Law 3

While for some people, the English word “law” has taken on an unjustifiable negative connotation, it is actually a prophetic word from the Holy Spirit.  In the last days, God’s people will struggle with sound doctrine. The devil’s last agenda will be a plot to confuse the Body of Christ concerning what is truth.   Satan’s first step is no different than what he did to Adam and Eve in the first covenant.  He persuaded them to contend for their freedom from rules.

Unfortunately, even God’s chosen people, the Israelite were unaware of the malevolent spirit in the background that was instigating their dislike for God’s law placed into their lives.

The same could be true for some of today’s believers.  Fotolia_60518716_XSThey have been engaged in spiritual warfare, but they are unware of just how much this encroaching darkness has infiltrated their way of thinking about the Word of Life.  One cannot separate God’s Word from God’s Law (meaning instructions).  When believers have the revelation of the “Who” Jesus was in the earth, they will understand that He was a Living Torah, God’s Son whose earthly mission was to fulfill the law of the prophets.

CEB  Hebrews 1:1 In the past, God spoke through the prophets to our ancestors in many times and many ways.   2 In these final days, though, he spoke to us through a Son. God made his Son the heir of everything and created the world through him.   3 The Son is the light of God’s glory and the imprint of God’s being. He maintains everything with his powerful message. After he carried out the cleansing of people from their sins, he sat down at the right side of the highest majesty.   4 And the Son became so much greater than the other messengers, such as angels, that he received a more important title than theirs. (Heb 1:1-4 CEB)

Greek  3056 λγος logos {log’-os} 1b4) of the moral precepts given by God 1b5) Old Testament prophecy given by the prophets

Greek  3056 λγος logos {log’-os} 3) In John, denotes the essential Word of God, Jesus Christ, the personal wisdom and power in union with God, his minister in creation and government of the universe, the cause of all the world’s life both physical and ethical, which for the procurement of man’s salvation put on human nature in the person of Jesus the Messiah, the second person in the Godhead, and shone forth conspicuously from His words and deeds.”

All of God’s attributes and His instructions in order to live a holy life were given to us in the person of Jesus.  He was a manifested thesaurus for believers to clearly understand the Word of God.  In other words, Jesus, the Lamb of God became an atonement for mankind, He walked out the Torah before mankind, and He demonstrated God’s love to mankind.

1 John 1:1 We announce to you what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have seen and our hands handled, about the word of life. (1Jo 1:1 CEB)

Fotolia_62326763_XSMost people have no problems using or explaining the word “canon” to describe a collection of books.  It is universally recognized as the inspired word of God.  Did you know that it is also a word meaning rules?

The definitions for “Canon,” according to Oxford dictionary are …

Canon  (Kanon) Old English: from Latin, from Greek= rules, reinforced                                                                                                                      Latin  (Canonicus) = according to rule.

If we have no reservations with the use of this term; then Fotolia_56660417_XS-(1)
why should we have issues with the word, law?   The term, law did not originate from Hebrew writings, it was Torah (divine instructions).  The writers inserted it later in 1611 when the Torah was translated into the King James translation.

Fotolia_48003558_XSThe end results was that they were able to translate law as a “word”, but they were unable to translate or convey law as a “thought” of God.
