Testing of your faith

Testing of your faith

While news reports continue to pour out from the Middle East, we are reminded of the Biblical prophecy concerning that region of the world. This is the same place where rebellion against God came in the form of a new religion. This group did not seek a relationship with the God of the sons of Noah.  They sought a religion that would liberate them from God’s divine instructions. As a result, strong, defiant and bizarre discussions began about building a tower that would supposedly reach to Heaven. Fotolia_65040432_XS-(1)

Because of the rebellion of this communal group, malevolent spirits could operate in that particular area of the world.

Furthermore, since they spoke Hebrew, the language of creation; every thought had potential to come to pass.  The people were on one accord. They discovered the lessons that Jesus taught, the concept of one body and one Spirit.

CEB  Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, “There is now one people and they all have one language. This is what they have begun to do, and now all that they plan to do will be possible for them. (Gen 11:6 CEB)

9 Therefore, it is named Babel, because there the LORD mixed up the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD dispersed them over all the earth. (Gen 11:9 CEB)                                                                                                                                                             CJB  Genesis 11:9 For this reason it is called Bavel [confusion] (Gen 11:9 CJB)

13 Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the gold altar that is before God.

14 It said to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”

15 Then the four angels who had been made ready for that hour, day, month, and year were released to kill a third of humankind. (Rev 9:13-15 CEB)

Today, the time has come when Christians’ faith will be tested far beyond their feelings getting hurt or their flesh resisting sexual temptations.  The Bible teaches us that there will be a time when man’s heart shall fail him. I believe these spirits which are coming are not only spirits of terror, but spirits of murder.  And, this my friend, may only be the beginning.

Thankfully, there is good news.  Glory be to God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Yeshua) has rolled out His master plan.  The Scriptures tell us that God has a secret weapon against these demonic forces.  This secret weapon of God’s choice is the mature Christians. We must become one-minded.  Not as one in rebellion, but as one in Christ.  The devil wants the Church to become self-absorbed, self-serving, and competitive. Believers, let us move beyond our fleshly emotions and allow the Holy Spirit to develop the Body of Christ into His final workmanship – worthy of our Master’s use.

NLT  Hebrews 6:1 So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.

2 You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

3 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.

4 For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened– those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,

5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come–

6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.

7 When the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for thedead-crop farmer, it has God’s blessing.

8 But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it. (Heb 6:1-8 NLT)

Through the Word of God and His Holy Spirit, we will stop producing thorns and thistles and grow up to be good crop – the Church.

Remember, the devil’s objective is to try his age-old tactics of trying to get God’s people to rebel against His Holy instructions.  The devil also knows that any brother (or sister) in the Lord who is out of fellowship with another is considered to be AWOL.  In other words, he or she is a soldier who is absent without permission.

3 This is the love of God: we keep God’s commandments. God’s commandments are not difficult,

4 because everyone who is born from God defeats the world. And this is the victory that has defeated the world: our faith.

5 Who defeats the world? Isn’t it the one who believes that Jesus is God’s Son?
