Halloween in the Bible Final

Giving homage to the dead

The word “homage” means a special honor or respect shown publicly.

There is so much in Scripture today about the ageless battle between the Holy God of Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and Satan, the fallen cherub. Adonai has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the Kingdom of His Dear Son (Col 1:13).
While Salvation is free for all the world, our salvation was not free for Yeshua the Jewish Messiah (Jesus Christ of Nazareth).christ

Messianic Jews believe that the Scripture verses in Philippians 2:5-8 where the Bible says, “Let this mind be in you,” meant that while Christ was on the Cross, he was mindful of and practicing the attitude as stated below:

Complete Jewish Bible  Phi 2:5-8                                                                                5 Let your attitude toward one another be governed by your being in union with the Messiah Yeshua:
6 Though he was in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God something to be possessed by force.
7 On the contrary, he emptied himself, in that he took the form of a slave by becoming as human beings are. And when he appeared as a human being,
8 he humbled himself still more by becoming obedient even to death- death on a stake as a criminal! (Phi 2:5-8 CJB)
What a beautiful mind

As long as we trust in Jesus, He is faithful keep us in His love. The Lord paid dearly for our salvation, and we are thankful. Our joyful expressions reveal an appreciation for His undeserving grace.

Satan, since the beginning of earth’s history, has found ways to re-enter the affairs of man through the gateways of man’s rebellion against the Lord and the uses of astrology, magic, and occult.
With Adonia’s guidance, God’s Prophet Moses defeated the magicians of Egypt, overthrew their demons, and freed the children of God from Ramesses II.

Ramesses II (1279-1213 BCE, alternative spellings:

Ramses,Rameses) was known to the Egyptians as Userma’atre’setepenre, which meant ‘Keeper of Harmony and Balance, Strong in Right, Elect of Ra.’ He has also been distinguished as Ozymandias and as Ramesses theGreat. He was the third pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty (1292-1186 BCE) who claimed to have won a decisive victory over the Hittites at The Battle of Kadesh. http://www.ancient.eu/Ramesses_II/

“The enclosing structures the Egyptians left behind were much more than the result of granite, line-stone, and marble. They epitomize unparalleled genius, unrivaled technology and the beginning of man’s struggle to engineer a bridge between man and the divine,” (The History Channel).
Further, the History Channel Resource confirmed the existence of the ancient cities of the Hittites and Kadesh, agreeing with the Bible as well. Their History Channel stated that the Egyptians grasped a spiritual consciousness of how to establish bridges between the land of the living and the land of the dead.

Finally, the Egyptians lived in a culture where prayers to the dead or communication with spirit beings was a constant reality.

It is hard to imagine anyone turning his or her back on the love of Christ to seek a cold and destructive union with the kingdom of darkness, but it happens more often that you would think.

I once walked into a video store, and when I stepped into a particular location, I sensed the presence of pure evil. I looked around, not expecting to see anything. Then, I realized that I was walking through the Horror Movie section. I never experienced a moment quite like that before. Like myself, many Christians are familiar with ways in which the Lord speaks to a believer’s heart with checks and cautions. At the same time, God has an innumerable amount of angels protecting the community of faith. I believe there was something more to be learned from that moment. Perhaps, at least one of those movies contained real incantations or chants. A movie meant for adult entertainment could include phrases that are very similar to an abomination in Scripture.
One has to remember that occultists desire power and they call on the assistance of demonic activity for their empowerment.

Merriam-Webster                                                                                         Occultism: occult theory or practice: belief in or study of the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/occultism
Demonic objects or symbols are known as “openers” or “gateways” into the spirit realm and have no place in the Christians home such as strange occult jewelry, symbolic souvenirs, or writings.

25The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.
26 Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
(Deu 7:25-26 KJV)

Believers of Act 19:18 Had Occult paraphernalia in the home

Our Lord and Savour lovingly prepared an open-door relationship with all believers to enjoy peace and serenity. This covenant privilege is apparent from what we saw occurring in the New Testament (Acts 19:18-20). Demon spirits attached those who were trying to cast out devils in the city of Ephesus may have been the result of occult paraphernalia in their homes.

18 Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices.
19 A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars.
20 So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect. (Act 19:18-20 NLT)

25 Finally, in the fifth year, you may eat the fruit. If you follow this pattern, your harvest will increase. I am the LORD your God.
26 “Do not eat meat that has not been drained of its blood. “Do not practice fortune-telling or witchcraft.
27 “Do not trim off the hair on your temples or trim your beards.
28 “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD.

(Lev 19:24-28 NLT) 31 “Do not defile yourselves by turning to mediums or to those who consult the spirits of the dead. I am the LORD your God. (Lev 19:31 NLT)

The new Disney movie “Moana” is about a young girl who meets a mighty demigod, Maui. Maui guides Moana on her journey. A manufacturer designed a Halloween costume that included the tattoos. Amazingly, after the discovery that the tattoos were the real thing, there was a sudden halt in this production. They carried a religious connotation, so production of the costumes was stopped to keep from offending the indigenous population.

NLT Deuteronomy 14:1 “Since you are the people of the LORD your God, never cut yourselves or shave the hair above your foreheads in mourning for the dead.
2 You have been set apart as holy to the LORD your God, and he has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be his own special treasure. (Deu 14:1-2 NLT)

9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
10 “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”
11 Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.
(1Pe 2:9-11 NLT)

2 When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from a cemetery to meet him.
3 This man lived among the burial caves and could no longer be restrained, even with a chain.
4 Whenever he was put into chains and shackles– as he often was– he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
5 Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones.
6 When Jesus was still some distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him, and bowed low before him.
7 With a shriek, he screamed, “Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me!”
8 For Jesus had already said to the spirit, “Come out of the man, you evil spirit.”
9 Then Jesus demanded, “What is your name?” And he replied, “My name is Legion, because there are many of us inside this man.”
10 Then the evil spirits begged him again and again not to send them to some distant place.
11 There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside nearby.
12 “Send us into those pigs,” the spirits begged. “Let us enter them.” (Mar 5:2-12 NLT).

Notice, the only things that Jesus allowed the demons to enter were the sacredly unclean animals.
