Will the LORD find “faith”

Will the LORD find “faith” when He returns?

Luke 18:8 λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ποιήσει τὴν ἐκδίκησιν αὐτῶν ἐν τάχει. πλὴν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐλθὼν ἆρα εὑρήσει τὴν πίστιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς;

In the book of Luke, there is a passage of Scripture, which contains the Greek word “πίστιν” {pis’-tis} [faith], located in verse 8 of the 18th chapter. Jesus taught, using parables.  In His story, a widow asked a judge for his assistants in a legal matter. The widow’s husband is dead, and she is powerless in taking vengeance against her adversary. Moreover, this unjust judge could not care less about her affairs.old-lady

5 `yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.'”

6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.

7 “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?

8 “I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? (Luk 18:4-8 NKJ)

The idea that Jesus would use this parable shows the important of consistency. Eventually, the unjust Judge, who never shows any regard for anyone, eventually did the right thing.   The one thing this deep-rooted judge could not resist was her consistency. The magnificence focus life the widow displayed, but humble spirit overwhelmed the stubborn unjust Judge.

Jesus calls this faith.

First, as a widow, she could lose her inheritances. Therefore, she totally depended upon the judge’s ruling.

Secondly, she did not take matters into her hands, but with a modest approach, she left the conclusion of the matter into the hands of the higher authority.

Thirdly, she was at peace while demonstrating total trust in his judging ability, which was to be fair-minded and impartial.

If constant prayer moves an unfair judge, what should we expect from our loving and caring Father, which is in Heaven?

At the end of the story, we learn that Jesus was talking about continuous prayer. Remaining faithful in prayer and worship is one of the most important and essential parts of faith in GOD.
