Psalms 119:1-4 Aleph1 Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD.2 Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.3 They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.4 You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully. (NLT)

1 Corinthians 1:2
2 I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.  (NLT)

The Called of the Lord

The Bible uses two different Greek verbs to distinguish between an invitation to a gathering, or an invitation to stand before the LORD. Many of you are introduced to the Gospel by tracts, radio ministries, or friends and family sharing their faith. While others have detected by instinct or rather by recognizing the Holy voice of ADONAI, our Heavenly Father’s call to Holiness. At the same time as your calling, the devil sees the angelic activity around, recognizing that you are special to GOD. However, the kingdom of darkness wants to separate you from people ADONAI has in your life to aid you toward your destiny. Always remember,  a Holy calling includes a holy life. In other words, a holy calling doesn’t necessarily translate Devine acceptance.

κλητός klētós; used to designate those invited to a banquet. Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few chosen. (CWSB)

κλῆσις klḗsis; the divine call by which Christians are introduced into the privileges of the Gospel.

Matthew 22:1-3 The Wedding Banquet (Luke 14:15-24) 1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son.3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.  2822. κλητός klētós; fem. klētḗ, neut. klētón, verbal adj. from kaléō (G2564), to call. Called, invited, welcomed, appointed. Originally it was used to designate those invited to a banquet (Sept.: 1 Kgs. 1:41, 49). In the gospels, it is found only in Matt. 20:16 and 22:14. (I) In the gospels, there is a distinction between the klētoí, the called ones, and the eklektoí, the chosen ones, relative to both service (Matt. 20:16) and salvation (Matt. 22:14). The first instance in which we find both words is Matt. 20:16, at the end of the parable…

2821. κλῆσις klḗsis; gen. klḗseōs, fem. noun from kaléō (G2564), to call. A call, invitation to a banquet.
In the NT, metaphorically, a call, invitation to the kingdom of God and its privileges, i.e., the divine call by which Christians are introduced into the privileges of the Gospel (Rom. 11:29, “calling of God”; Eph. 1:18; Phil. 3:14; 2 Thess. 1:11; 2 Tim. 1:9; Heb. 3:1; 2 Pet. 1:10). In Eph. 1:18 and 4:4, the “hope of . . . calling” means the hope which the Christian’s call permits him to cherish.

In 1 Cor. 1:26, “For ye see your calling” means to consider the circumstances of your call, the factors involved in your call. In 1 Cor. 7:20, “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called” means as he was called, so let him remain.  God’s invitation (klḗsis) to man to accept the benefits of His salvation is what this calling is all about, particularly in the gospels. It is God’s first act in the application of redemption according to His eternal purpose (Rom. 8:28).

A distinction is made between God’s calling and men’s acceptance of it (Matt. 20:16), the unrestricted offer and the appropriation resulting from a hearty appreciation of its implications. On God’s part it is sure and without repentance (Rom. 11:29), repentance here being not the ordinary word translated as repentance, metánoia (G3341), but ametamélētos (G0278), which means something irrevocable. God’s call is heard by all so that none may one day have the excuse that they did not hear the call and that is why they did not repent. Those who believe on Him and accept His call are truly saved (John 3:15, 16; Phil. 3:14). For those who truly believe this is a holy calling (2 Tim. 1:9 [cf. Rom. 1:7; 1 Cor. 1:2]) and a heavenly calling (Heb. 3:1). The calling is “not of works” but of the sovereign grace of God (Rom. 9:11), “who saved us and called us with a holy [hagía {G0040}, holy in the effect of that calling] calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given in Christ Jesus before times eternal” (a.t. [2 Tim. 1:9]). The call which thus comes from God is “in Christ” (a.t. [1 Pet. 5:10]) and “through the gospel” ( (CWSB Dictionary)

At this point in the blog, I would like to explain a critical section in the parable of the invitation to the wedding feast that may not show up in the western culture. When the King’s guests arrived at the feast, they were all given a garment to wear. Because Yeshua’s parable was about the Kingdom of Heaven, the rebellious, opinionated guest was taken to a place of torment. In other words, the guest was offered the same grace and hospitality as the other guests. Still, his rejection of the King’s hospitality demonstrated arrogance and disrespect to the King’s mercy.

The same is true for those who the Lord was speaking to as a group when they realized the horrors of hell; they will cry out and say Lord, Lord, we operated in the gifts in Your name. But Yeshua (the Jewish Messiah) will say depart from me; I don’t know you! Our Christ could have said, demons tremble at My name, but you don’t.
When the LORD calls you to HIMSELF, ADONAI, God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob creates a memoir (your life), and the great King knew you before you were born that He will execute a task that you were designed for, from your mother’s womb. Just like Samual, who goes from being a child to prophesying the death of a king, within an hour.

John was writing this epistle to believers, namely to those who were members of the churches of Asia Minor. Because the letter addresses such broad moral topics, it is clear that John’s goal was to provide direction for those Christians who faced new challenges to their faith.

At this time, there was an emergence of various groups whose teachings opposed Christianity. These people infiltrated the church, and there were many who gave in to their denial of the key fundamentals of Christianity (e.g., Christ’s deity and resurrection).  As opposition to the believers’ faith arose, they were encouraged to continue walking in fellowship with Christ so as to not be drawn into false beliefs (1 John 1:5-2:2). God’s plan to protect his gifts inside of you.Psalms 89:19-33 Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people. You said, “I have raised up a warrior. I have selected him from the common people to be king.20 I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil.21 I will steady him with my hand; with my powerful arm I will make him strong.22 His enemies will not defeat him, nor will the wicked overpower him.23 I will beat down his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him.24 My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him, and by my authority he will grow in power.25 I will extend his rule over the sea, his dominion over the rivers.26 And he will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’27 I will make him my firstborn son, the mightiest king on earth.28 I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end.29 I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.30 But if his descendants forsake my instructions and fail to obey my regulations,31 if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,32 then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating.33 But I will never stop loving him nor fail to keep my promise to him. The king was furious

Matthew 22:10 10-12 Kings would sometimes give banquets for their subjects and invite them all, regardless of status, providing suitable clothing for those unable to afford it. Therefore the one not wearing what the king had provided was without excuse. For the meaning of wedding clothes, see Rv 19:8. (Jewish New Testament Commentary)
Matthew 22:7-147 “The king was furious, and he sent out his army to destroy the murderers and burn their town. 8 And he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, and the guests I invited aren’t worthy of the honor. 9 Now go out to the street corners and invite everyone you see.’ 10 So the servants brought in everyone they could find, good and bad alike, and the banquet hall was filled with guests.11 “But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing the proper clothes for a wedding. 12 ‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how is it that you are here without wedding clothes?’ But the man had no reply. 13 Then the king said to his aides, ‘Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (NLT)

When you come to worship

Isaiah 1:1-19 Isaiah.9 If the LORD ofHeaven’s Armies had not spared a few of us, we would have been wiped out like Sodom, destroyed like Gomorrah.10 Listen to the LORD, you leaders of “Sodom.” Listen to the law of our God, people of “Gomorrah.”11 “What makes you think I want all your sacrifices?” says the LORD. “I am sick of your burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened cattle. I get no pleasure from the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.12 When you come to worship me, who asked you to parade through my courts with all your ceremony?13 Stop bringing me your meaningless gifts; the incense of your offerings disgusts me! As for your celebrations of the new moon and the Sabbath and your special days for fasting— they are all sinful and false. I want no more of your pious meetings.14 I hate your new moon celebrations and your annual festivals. They are a burden to me. I cannot stand them!15 When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen, for your hands are covered with the blood of innocent victims.16 Wash yourselves and be clean! Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways.17 Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.18 “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.19 If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat. (NLT)
