Running Towards the Sound of War

RUNNING TOWARDS THE SOUND OF WAR

Editor: Val Gunter

While attending a retirement program at the Pentagon in Washington DC, I was struck by the similarities of battlefield strategies in comparison to Biblical principles. Submitting one’s self to God while resisting the devil, affords one the grace and anointing for the ministry of reconciliation.

Reconciliation is a rescue mission that every soldier is promised: “you will never be left behind”. Someone will always be fighting to extract a comrade from the enemy’s harm.

As I listened to the similarities between natural warfare and spiritual warfare, it was understood- preparation was the most important element for mission success.

EPHESIANS 6:12 NIV

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Before our US Armed Forces engage in any military operation involving combat, they would need to make sure that they have the right window of opportunity because we don’t want to execute a mission if the window has closed.

What we want is to capitalize on the window when it’s open. We also need to pay attention to our Intel so that we make sure that the enemy is actually there and we are not being lured into deception, or a trap, or anything that could lead to bad publicity because we’re attacking a place that is occupied by civilians or innocents.

How many times have well-meaning Christians gotten involved in reconciliation that wound up pushing people further away from ministries or from those who actually have the ability or skill set to properly minister to the hurting brother or sister?

Learning to wait on proper timing is crucial, even knowing the difference of when to be unbiased, or when to become assertive. Being knowledgeable in counseling skills in an area of Bible Truth, is the difference between reconciliation and disaster. Armed forces even have to take in account that the enemy may actually be there, but it may not be wise to attack due to high collateral damage or casualties.

When subjects are open for deliverance ministry, that is when a trained minister, who knows how to engage the demonic forces that causes divisions and broken relationships in the body of Christ is able to administer healing and deliverance by the power of the Holy Spirit.

On the other end of satanic warfare are the mental sicknesses, such as anxieties, depressions and hopelessness, which all can be brought on by the daily news.

The most godly worship is creating and maintaining a holy lifestyle, which draws the presence of God and His angels to the place that you have created. As Scripture teaches when we draw near to God, He will draw near unto us.

JAMES 4:8 AMP

Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you.
