Creating A Place 8

We are creating a Place in the world for God’s Kingdom, where He will show us the path from the Code of the Torah Law to the administration of Christ, our King.

The Old Testament Scriptures pointed to Christ! Whenever Scriptures were used by the Apostles, they recited from the O/T.
There were no Bibles at that time, only the O/T.

John 5:39-47 (NLT)

39 “You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! 40 Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life.

In last week’s blog, I remarked regarding Christ statement “I did not come to abolish the Law”, found at Matthew 5:17

In school, Ron Moseley, Ph.D. stressed, never confuse the words “fulfill and fulfilled when associating those critical words with what Christ, the Messiah, says at Matthew 5:17. Fulfilled is an adjective, to fulfill is a verb.

Fulfilled or fulfill are two different words, holding two separate word definitions and contradictory actions.

Today, when a sinner comes to faith in Yeshua (Jesus Christ of Nazareth), one must put his or her faith in the Jewish Messiah, not the code of the Law. The function of the Law was to bring us to the place where Torah turns over the answerability of Salvation to a true Priestly King.

God is with us!

As our Priest, Yeshua is over qualifications for admissions into the Kingdom of God. As a King, no one can reopen doors He has sealed or close doors He has unlocked. As a High Priest, He will send the Spirit of truth to council us. As King of Kings and Lord of lords, He can defend all that belongs to him and defeat any army, that is natural or spiritual, that rise up against His kingdom.

The Western mindset may struggle with Kingdom concept. In the west, we have parties who argue over social ideas, as I always say, politics can’t fix politics. The electioneering process is looking out for a particular group’s interest.

However, when a righteous king is seated on the thorn, the people will rejoice. Unlike politics, where special groups and they’re agender are served, a Theocracy is such as a Kingdom where Yeshua (Jesus Christ of Nazareth) issue orders as the ruling King.

Theocracy

theocracy /thē-ok’rə-si/ noun

  1. (Gr theokratiā, from krateein to rule) that constitution of a state in which God, or a god, is regarded as the sole sovereign, and the laws of the realm as divine commands rather than human ordinances, the priesthood necessarily becoming the officers of the invisible ruler

A Kingdom needs space, a reservation in the hearts of its people and their communities. Believing Christians or believing Jews, who are willing to establish territories for the administration of King Jesus, must fulfill their parts as well.

Matthew 5:20 (Complet Jewish Bible)

20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness is far greater than that of the Torah-teachers and P’rushim, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

As intercessors and His body parts welcome the Kingdom of our God, we must think of Adonai’s Kingdom as a tangible place, which needs launching by prayer and worship. (Easton’s Bible Dictionary)

Gideon

Gideon, called also Jerubbaal (Judg 6:29, 32), was the first of the judges whose history is circumstantially narrated (Judg. 6-8). His calling is the commencement of the second period in the history of the judges.

After the victory gained by Deborah and Barak over Jabin, Israel once more sank into idolatry, and the Midianites (q.v.) and Amalekites, with other “children of the east,” crossed the Jordan each year for seven successive years for the purpose of plundering and desolating the land. Gideon received a direct call from God to undertake the task of delivering the land from these warlike invaders.

Psalms 103:17-22 (NLT)

17 His Salvation extends to the children’s children 18 of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! 19 The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. 20 Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. 21 Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! 22 Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the Lord.

Matthew 5:17 (Message Bible)

17 Don’t suppose for a minute that I have come to demolish the Scriptures—either God’s Law or the Prophets. I’m not here to demolish but to complete. I am going to put it all together, pull it all together in a vast panorama.

Matthew 5:17-20 (Complete Jewish Bible)

17 “Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. 18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until Heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah—not until everything that must happen has happened. 19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness is far greater than that of the Torah-teachers and P’rushim, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

What is very interesting is how Jesus taught the Law. If Christ came to abolish the Law, the evidence proved that our Lord was harder on sin than the Old Testament itself.

Exodus 20:13 (NLT)

Torah Code. 13 “You must not murder.”

Matthew 5:21-22 (New Living Translation)

21 “You have heard that our ancestors were told, “You must not murder.” If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment. 22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

Teaching about Adultery

Torah Code.  Exodus 20:14

14 “You must not commit adultery.”

Matthew 5:27-30 ( (New Living Translation) )

27 You have heard the commandment that says, “You must not commit adultery.” 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your hand—even your stronger hand—causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

love your neighbor as yourself

Torah Code. Leviticus 19:18-19 (NLT)

18 Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. 19 You must obey all my decrees.

Matthew 5:43-48 (NLT)

43 You have heard the Law that says, “Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.” 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in Heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.

The misinterpretation “Matthew 5:17” has created a doctrinal separation, where one thought in the First Covenant is closed and silenced. The other idea is that the First Covenant is the necessary evidence of the true Messiah with credentials that believers stand on defending their faith. Continuing with this thought, the terms “Bible” and “Old Testament” are commonly used by non-Jews to describe Judaism’s scriptures. The appropriate term is “Tanakh,” which is derived as an acronym from the Hebrew letters of its three components: Torah, Nevi’im, and Ketuvim.

The Hebrew word “Torah” means Instructions

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus,

Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

The word “Navi” means – Prophets

 Joshua, Judges, I Samuel,

II Samuel’ I Kings, II Kings

Isaiah, Jeremiah,

Ezekiel, etc.

The Hebrew word “Ketuvim” means Writings

Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Song of Songs

Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes

Esther, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah

I Chronicles, II Chronicles, etc.

What is so amazing about the arrangement of the “Tanakh” is for thousands of years men who never met or heard one another speak were telling the same story. While under the influence of the Holy Spirit, men were moved to write about a Priest, who would become a King.

This Kingly Priest is the Messiah. The promised Messiah; מָשִׁיחַ māšiyaḥ ( Messiah) to the Hebrews or Χριστός Christós (the Christ) to the Greeks.

Christ” is not Jesus’ last name, but His esteemed Divine Title.

So, as a sinner who accepts this narrative from the Old Testament to be proven true, and makes Jesus their Savior, is transformed by the same divine power, who authored the entire Bible story. As a new believer is baptized into the achievements of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, that sinner becomes apart of the most amazing story ever told. At the same time, they become a member of the Kingdom of the promised Messiah. Baptism is a foreign concept to Jews because to baptize (Greek), the preacher dips the candidate into water. In Judaism, the Rabbi stands by to witness the candidate immerses themselves into water. Jesus straightway came up out of the water. Our Lord’s immersion was Hebraic.

Mark 16:15-16 (Complete Jewish Bible)
15 Then he said to them, “As you go throughout the world, proclaim the Good News to all creation. 16 Whoever trusts and is immersed will be saved; whoever does not trust will be condemned.

“Ἰησοῦς Χριστός” Jesus the Christ or Jesus the Anointed One.

Pronunciation “Iēsoú” “Christós”

2424. Ἰησοῦς Iēsoús; gen. Iēsoú, masc. proper noun transliterated from the Hebr. Yēshū’a (3091, OT), Jehovah his help. Jesus, Jehoshua, contracted to Joshua (Neh. 8:17).

(Easton Bible Dictionary)

Christ Anointed, the Greek translation of the Hebrew word rendered “Messiah” (q.v.), the official title of our Lord, occurring five hundred and fourteen times in the New Testament. It denotes that he was anointed or consecrated to his great redemptive work as Prophet, Priest, and King of his people.

H4899. מָשִׁיחַ māšiyaḥ: A masculine noun meaning anointed one. Although this word is a noun, it can function both as a substantive (1 Sam. 24:6[7], 10[11]); or an adjective (Lev. 4:3, 5, 16).

5547. Χριστός Christós; fem. christḗ, neut. christón, adj. from chríō (G5548), to anoint. Anointed, a term used in the OT applied to everyone anointed with the holy oil, primarily to the high priesthood (Lev. 4:5, 16).

So, what’s the point of this blog? One important point is Christians and Messianic Jews can prove to an Atheist or an Agnostic, why their faith is in Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah. Whoever tries to ridicule a believer for trusting Jesus Christ of Nazareth should be told, His story is documented over thousands of years as the Holy Spirit gave insight into the coming Messiah.

For you gladly honor each other, but you don’t care about the honor that comes from the one who alone is God.

45 “Yet it isn’t I who will accuse you before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, in whom you put your hopes. 46 If you really believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me. 47 But since you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?”
